Self-made millionaire Ker Wallace is off to sail around the world when he encounters a strange storm while traversing the Bermuda Triangle. Rendered unconscious by the storm, he awakes to find he is lost in the past during the golden age of piracy. Worried about what people of this era might think or do to him, he seeks a place to hide and call home.
Ker goes about rebuilding his life and being new to the era defends a young woman, which was unheard of in this time. In doing this, he humiliates a feared French Pirate captain in front of the legendary pirate Edward Teach. Focusing on his life and his new love, Ker sets out to use his knowledge of the past to find financial security, thus leading him to follow Blackbeard in hopes of locating where he keeps his stolen booty.
